| Chesil - Abbotsbury 14/12/9 Dragged kicking and screaming onto dry land again by the lads ... Had a session at Abbotsbury - 1300-2000 HW 1730(ish) not sure of the exact time ... Lovely day, cold clear no wind, little swell - just a nice day for fishing ... Planned to fish big hooks/baits all day in search of a big cod  Nearly went to plan, between us we bought £50 of yellowtail lug from a local shop - shop threw in a few extra packs as he said some of the lug might have turned - he was not 'friggin wrong - it was ALL mush - all dead - fecking useless .... not only did we waste £50 but all that effort in getting there and no bait  Still, made the most of a bad start ... had some frozen black and rag so used that with squid ... Had little for a few hours then a few small pout & whiting, the obligatory dogfish then a real bite & lump ... pulled it in to the surf ... a cod I thought - nope a 3lb Whiting !!! chuffed or what, PB Whiting that was - very pleased  Carried on all night with pin whiting, dogfish and a few pout ... Hi-light was my desperate desire to get back in the water - mate screamed he had a biggun' ... went to help him land it - HUGE cod - no tall stories - I reckon double figure ... gilled it and a wave took me over - shite myself as I know what it is like down there, scrambled back up to see the cod laughing and swim off  Classic one that got away ... was seriously a big cod ...
