Newhaven - December Insanity

Well, I went fishing today, although I'm gutted a bit now as Audiracer had PM'd me just after I had left the house, so I would've had a fishing bud for the day.

Anyway, I decided to go to Seaford to fish the beach there, got there and had the wind full in my face, so I ended up at me old fave, the harbour arm at Newhaven. I got set up, two rods, 3 hook flappers, squid/lug combos and sat...

Nothing happened for almost for nearly three hours and I was ready to pack up when my rod tips both rattled. I couldn't believe it when I saw two mackerel on one rig and one on the other, they had gone for the squid. Good size too. I noticed a guy just up from where I was fishing, bringing them in too. Not wanting to waste an opportunity, I ran to my tackle box, grabbed some feathers and started to fish for more. I brought in 10, all good sizes and all brought home with me. The guy down from me had well over twenty, he must have hit the middle of the shoal. BUT IT'S DECEMBER!!!!!

It just doesn't make sense.. Anyway, mackerel for tea, he he

Rob

Thumbs up Re: Newhaven - December Insanity

Well done mate.

Its madness the sea temperatures are still very warm... hence the Mackkies still about.

My pal went Bassing out of Weymouth on a Charter on Saturday i couldn't go and they had well over 45 Bass between 6 of them.... brilliant fishing!

Global warming mate thats what its all about.

Well done again.
