Hi everyone. I've recently moved to littlehampton and would like to ask you guys where's any decent places to fish near here? I've heard that Pagham is supposed to be good and also Selsea but is there anywhere very local to Littlehampton or Rustington? I'm not being lazy but sometimes I might only have a couple of hours or so and I'd rather spend that time fishing than driving. Cheers to you all and I look forward to posting some (hopefully good) catch reports soon.

Re: Anyone have knowledge of Littlehampton area? Nice one gremlin thanks. Good site with some great tips. Have found Tropicana too, very helpful and friendly, it's like an Aladdins cave in there I'd recommend it to anyone. I've never caught a bass on a lure but I will certainly give it a go come the spring. Thanks again........Simon

Re: Anyone have knowledge of Littlehampton area? Hi Mate Littlehampton is a great spot to be located in. Not a local myself but visit the inlaws at least once a month and usually find the time to escape for a bit of fishiing. Climping and East Preston are both good beaches to fish from but as already mentioned only really fishable a couple of hours each side of high water. The local beeches can sometimes also be really bad for weed. Goring by sea at the sea lane Cafe on Marine Crescent is also a good spot. There is an outcrop of rocks in front of the cafe which creates a shallow bay area that you can cast into during high water. It is best fished at night time though as it gets busy during the day with customers for the cafe, especially during the summer. You can also try fishing into the river Arun from West beach in Littlehampton. Look across the river from the fair side of town to the cafe. fish over the railings anywhere along that stretch in front of the cafe. To get there by road you need to head up to the A259 and follow the old road down to the footbridge. Turn right and head past the golf course till you hit the cafe. Parking is pay and display. I dont fish there myself that often as the river is one of the fastest flowing in the country which makes holding bottom with your rig tricky. It also suffers from lots of weed sometimes. At low water head out onto the beech past the wooden pier near the fair till you find the river channel. Lure fishing into the river has been productive for me even at night catching some good size Bass. Just be careful to pack up before the tide rises over the metal channel wall and floods the beach which can catch you out if your not careful. By far my favourite spot around Littlehampton is Shoreham Arm. It does take about 40 minutes to get there but can be fished at any time in almost any weather with a good chanch of catching lots of different species. The high wall offers some protection from the elements and you can fish into the harbour channel when the sea is very rough or the dreaded weed is abound. To get there head along the coast road from Worthing to Shoreham Then turn right at the roundabout with petrol station on before the bridge. Follow the road to the end where there is a small carpark. Walk past the old fort till you see the arm. As you r a local you will have more opportunity to pick the best time to go. My success has been sketchy over the years but i think thats a lot to do with not being in the right place at the right time having to go when opportunity allows as a pose to the best time to fish. Hope you find useful and good luck.
