well baggie will be happy( first wed league 2009)

Tonight was the last of the 2009 wed night monthly league matches
and as is usual/tradition it was exmouth seafront fishing a short session 7.30-9.30 weigh in at the bath house pub asap after, high at 6,30 with a big dropping tide

as i was driveing down there at 7 the rain was lashing against window and was definately unpleasent, so after meeting Si we donned waterproofs and headed to the beach by the Octogon( sods law it stopped raining at start time 7.30 but after getting kitted up, we stayed looking like the michelin men and did some crotch pot cooking

In the end 7 nutters turned out in this weather

there was a cracking bit of surf ( well ok it was breaking over the sea wall occasionally) but what we didnt expect was TONS of weed , NOT your usual weed this was full on M&S type weed, I think roger the new guy got the prize with a prime high double figure kelp monster

so not unsurpriseingly match was abandoned at 8.30( 4 of us had been socialiseing rather that fishing for last 1/2 hour )

so in the end scores were all unchanged from last month

so in 4th was ken 438% in year
in 3rd was myself 493% in year £15 and a £10tackle voucher
in 2nd was Baggie 526% in year £20 and £20 tackle voucher
and in first place for the 3rd year running was adrian with a massive lead at 823% and won £45 and £30 tackle voucher and the cup

a cracking eve even if the weed killed it

sods law after we left pub was flat calm and mild so i went home and toddled/hobbled to local in just teeshirt and hoody, got to love british weather

A massive thanks to Adrian for running again this year, next year Si and myself are running with a different format which hopefully will encorage more to fish

well done baggie( next year i will not break ankle and do better)

this probably doesent make sence( prob as wrote after the pub :-) unless you realise that baggie was away with work last night and couldnt actually fish, therefore i only needed 1 fish for 30% to beat him

Unlucky mate.. Shame that between my work and your ankle we couldn't give Adrian a better run for his money. I guess we just missed too many months to properly challenge. Ah well. At least it was a close thing for second between the three of us which kept it exciting I guess.
