got away with it again( thanks to the forum)

well last night both rich and myself really fancied chesil (in the slight lull between storms), knew matt ( fullcreel ) was there and thanks to Twiddles got his number( I had stupidly deleted it after smut meet) and so we got a live update on chesil ,It definately sounded like i would be struggling with a still not strong ankle ,as it was busy there and still big surf

so where to go, decided to drop into good old dependable and safe Lyme regis
went to the end of the Inner (north) harbour arm. The waves outside the Cobb were still crashing over the protective wall ( that was with the tide being 2 hours down ) and there was a hell of alot of monmouth beach on the inner road, so we were glad not to be on chesil

I fished to left as usual, and sent one rod out with a 3/0 pennel whole squid(bass) into the harbour mouth entrance( well there were definately not going to be any boats tonight) and the other looking for sole/anything with size 4's and worm

rich was on much the same tactics,I'm not sure who got first blood but it was definately pout and rig ruining slimey eels in first, then more pout and a doggie on my big bait, then at last a good fish on the big bait and one very happy Pingu



3lb spot on, whoo hoo

we then had a succession of Snotty eels up to about 1 1/2lb and more pout. We packed up 11pm as the tide was way down and surf really pulling in the weed ,and rain was just starting and we were not out to get soaked( no shelter at all on this wall end

We drove home via good old seaton kebab, and then through steady rain and loads of flooded roads from seaton back to Exmouth , So we really had got away with weather twice in one night

We had nowt.
Waves crashing to over 6 feet when we decided to pack up. We also lost a fair few leads, but suprisingly bouight in some that had been lost by others, plus some mackeral feathers and other gubbins. Made me wonder how much lost tackle is out there.

It was a much needed night all round. Dissapointed not to be on Chesil, but knew it was the right decision really.

Absolutely chuffed to see Dave get his Bass, that fish has been a long time coming. No pressure then when muggins here had to treck down the steps to haul it in... If I'd have lost it having grabbed the leader....
