Thumbs down bad night( for me) at budliegh

last night was the wed league again

turnout was the minimum of 3 (ade, rich and myself), but i needed to fish, so s*d the comp lets see what i can get

staggered to bottom of steemer steps and set up infront( ade headed off 100 yrds into dark, rich joined me a tad later

sea conditions were ok , as was fine weather in the end. tide was a fast drop, but lets fish

well i struggled, i was hopeing my stability would let me cast properly but i just was casting so bad, had 1 big birdy and 2 crackoffs

the uneven ground was really makeing ankle ache as well
i did manage 2 small whiteing to weigh in but rich and ade both managed to bag a pair of dogs and whiteing( although comps a forgon conclucion now really, after leading for so many months)

came away feeling pretty down, down to this poxy ankle my fishing /casting mobility on stones was dire, i struggled on an easyish beach, and its only 2 weeks till back at work and this ankles certainly takeing its time,

rich wants to go out fri but my enthusiasm is at an all time low , i need a good fishy venue but have to keep going to easy access no fish marks

sorry down in dumps report
sure will be back on form soon

davbe

stick at it Dave, your luck will change I'm sure. Maybe a couple of pints of Otter before a fishing session will work

Sorry Dave - no quick fixes for broken bones.
Do as the physio says -
if they say exercise... exercise.
If they say rest it... rest it.
if they say gentle exercise... wiggle it occasionaly.
Best to get it healed properly... you don't want it playing up all the time so you are still losing fishing time in 10 years.
Every day your not catching them they are getting bigger.

You could always try for a goldfish in a darkside puddle.
Setup like a matchman & you shouldn't need to move from your seat.

Re: bad night( for me) at budliegh

We'll just have to fish the easy access marks and fill the rest of the time in the pub. It'll come mate, but no matter how frustrating it is, forcing it before your ready will not help in the long run. Take it easy fella!

Last night was a bit jammy really. There was the bear minimum of people there to hold a comp. I turned up an hour late anyway and it took me another hour to land a smallish whiting, just in size. I had a bearly sizable doggie half an hour later followed by another "skin of it's teeth" doggie and a whiting in the last two casts. 154% on the night was a decent return considering.

There's now a three way tussle for second in the league between Ping, myself and another, with only one match to go. Say goodbye to them nails, this is gonna be tight!
