| neap tide pagham 13th oct. dragged me dad out for a dangle coz its been far to long since we fished together, though we have to think a bit more about venues that are easier to access now he's in his 70's , the neap tide for early evening should have dictated hurst shingle as my 1st choice but a shingle march is bit too much for George these days and so we settled on pagham or hayling . ending up at pagham because neither of us had been there before & cuckoo has had recent sucess there. a quick call to Lee for info and we were set up on the beach with the tide in the last of the flood small hooks & random baits just to see whats about.  a small boat was beached and winched up the shingle to our left, after speaking with the guy in the boat an angler with spinning gear came & had a natter to us , telling us the guy in the boat had had a couple of thornies & a 9lb cod. which was encouraging as we spoke i saw a fish jump just off shore and so i swiftly deployed a float rig slid down the line but with no joy till darkness put the mockers on that idea.  we were treated to a glorious sun set and that signalled time to bring out the big rigs- wide gape 4/0 pennels loaded with squid/worm fished long n low. baits were being stripped by crabs quite quickly, but i persevered , as the tide dropped away other anglers started to leave the beach , dad was 1st to a capture with a pout snaffling a strip of mackerel & and another qiuckly followed.  two nil  and thats how it finnished , we were the last off the beach at about midnight & near lowwater. it was good to fish with dad again despite the mediocre result.  __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |

| Re: neap tide pagham 13th oct. Unlucky on the fishing GJ, sounds like it was more of a get together with the ancester though. I'm sure that was the most important bit. | Re: neap tide pagham 13th oct. no real thoughts as yet, cod/ turbot and or red mullet are my next targets.& i prob won't be out til 22nd, toying with the idea of a short session at severn nbeaches for a conger somewhen maybe. beaches will def be busy always the same when someone mentions the 'C' word . usually resulting in a few 'f' words after blanking  __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.
