| 2009 catch report number 35. not much to tell really, i wanted to target cod on the chesil, & after a 15hour night shift spent the day sourceing some lug , failed, couldn't even get any froze. hence thoroughly knackered i arrived late on the beach with a stack of ragworm/squid/sandeel. went to abbotsbury but in retrospect should a gone to southbourne. ashley & nutty tagged along, arrived at abbots about 20.30. there seemed plenty of anglers on the beach being about 1 1/2vhours short of high tide i opted for fishing near the carpark , found a space and chatted to an angler from bognor who had a fish of approx 3lb on the beach, took enough of a glance to see it was a cod or a pollock and wasted no time in setting up. (had memorys of last year when i got there late and weighed in a 10lber for the next rod b 4 i'd set up  , then virtually blanked)this trip was to be repeat, a big bright horrible moon rose to cast its light over a sea that was realy just too calm, honours were even between me and ash with just 3 pout/poorcod each. gave up at 01.30 with lack of fish/low water & a bloody cold n/e wind pursuadeing me that to continue was pointless. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |
