| stone pier weymouth 4th oct Sorry for no photos 1st off didn't see the point and no biguns or new species. Anyway as I had a few days off I headed for weymouth for a days fish . So armed with a 10ft multi and a 9ft spin , I set up the 9ft for float and the 10ft for ledger and sandeels and mackeral for bait . Having got there mid afternoon and low tide things didn't look promising having managed to get to the end of the pier, I got settled in with only a few garfish showing you could say the fishing was slow. Having been had a load of knocks I was getting a little frustrated until high tide and it got dark then it became happy hour I caught 4 small pollack on the float and 4 pouting ledgering happy days those who stayed also caught small bream and a gurnard . Then a few locals (not insulting) turned up and had mentioned somthing about squid , I didn't take much notice until splosh 1 landed on the pier and in the end 10-20 were landed all on squid lures plus a few to some on kyacks in the harbour, must give it a go. All in all the best days fishing from the pier till next time.![]() __________________ I fish there fore I am. |
