another crack at the sole 25/9/09

had another go at finding some sole last nite plus had a big bait out for a posible codling or bass.
the nite strated slow with lots of weed and only a couple of pout to show for it, then as tide eased off things got going, with a 3lb bass on the big bait,then the tinyest cute thornback the size of a beer mat. not long after i had anothe keeper sized bass of 2 1/2lb.
the nite went on like that with lots of pout, whiting,bass,eels,tiny thronbacks and a nice 1lb sole.
was a good nite but again im not finding the sole in any numbers, lucky the bass will keep me feed for 2 days

Seems your sole marks are not producing at the mo john , keep at it mate theres a lunker with your name on it

to many nets m8, and them fookin oyster dreadges are wrecking the sea bed and killing the shell fish which the sole are feeding up on. at the rate thay have hammered the solent this year i recon the solent sea bed will be a desert in a couple of years.
