Town quay 25/09/09 its happened !!

Fished town quay last night with bassmanrob , sailorboyrob and eddiec , arrived at 5.30 pm and set about chucking a dexter about which resulted in nothing , rob turned up with bait and so on to the proper fishing , straight from the off we were hammered by pin whiting and pout some big enough for livebaiting , we winessed the fella to our left pulling in a monster sole biggest ive seen caught off there , then the 2 robs left , and it was just me and ed , ed had a awsome rod bending take on live pout that bent his shark rod in 2 , but alas spat the hook , then eds close in rod went mad with maccy head and guts on resulting in this ......................



not long after i had a take on live pout and took me straight into a snag gave it some line and after about 10 minutes it freed itself and up she came ................



not a monster but nicely done all the same , all went quiet then and ed left at 5.30 am this morning leaving me on me tod with 2 more anglers fishing the top of the quay and when i went up to give them our left over bait found out it was me old mate gaz , packed up beach gear and decded to give it another hour with the livebait out , sat back and witnessed the independence of the seas coming in .................



and then the queen mary 2 ...............



cracking way to while away an hour

Then it happened .............................. jumped up to a rod bending run on live pout , just managed to grab the rod as it was flying over the railings , bass on and didnt i just know it shouted up to gaz to help me and as he jumped the railings and got her in the net we lifted her up and over and after 30 years of fishing IT HAPPENED ...................







the holy grail has blessed me 11 lb 5 ozs of pure silver power , awsome feeling , there was only one place this fish was going and that was back to the depths as she swam off a great feeling came over me , and packed up ready for home , still buzzing now

p.s a big thanks to gaz for netting her as i would have never got it up without his help ,
