sole searching getting harder

had ago mid solent on saterday nite after them sole.
it Was a strange but busy nights' fishing with fish feeding like mad then nothing, then it would go mad again, but we did find the target fish "sole" plus a bonus plaice. We were anchored along side Pete (pwilso12) most of the night and I think we had similar nights with weed being fishable but annoying. My mate did have a very good take on a live baited pout but missed it. we caught 3 Sole to 1lb, a 1lb Plaice, a 1lb Flounder(flatty hatrick), a few baby Smoothhounds, loads of tiny Bass and Eels plus a few pout . we were using Ragworm for bait.
its been very odd on my normal marks this year, the sole just don't seem to be in the numbers they normally are.i know thay do get netted from time to time and iv now been told that the trawlers have been working the area in search of plaice, so i guess its getting wiped out.
Still good laugh with good company, next trip is going to be to try a new spot I like the look of, so who knows, i might get some decent sole this year.

Well done, wish i could legally get some decent rag down here in shoreham, come to that some decent sole, used to fish this area as a teenager me and a friend and used to do quite well, my my, things have changed on the flattie front, how far out from the shore were you?
