Haslar Wall 12/9/09

I should have listened to advice given to me by some of you guys, but I didn't, and went to Haslar instead. BIG MISTAKE. fished 2 hours up, 4 hours down, all I could catch was wrasse, wrasse, wrasse and some wrasse. I was hoping for a sole later on but not to be. I caught a nasty looking thing, and fish recognition not being one of my strong points, didn't have a clue what it was. It was 3" long with a big head, brown in colour with a light belly and blueish green under the mouth. It had big spikes coming from gill covers and a spikey dorsal, it also made a grumbling noise, it,s amazing how something so small can scare the s**t out of you, any ideas. I also tried makeral fillet on a running ledger close in, thought there might be a bass about, the crabs loved it.
I will take any advise given to me next time. Hope you all had a good weekends fishing.

It was good fun Dave at least I didn't blank. I've been looking on line to find out what that fish was, I think it's a short spined scorpian fish (Devil fish) I didn't like it, hope I don't catch it again
