bagged a thornie & now giving up fishing for 6 weeks

well this last weekend has been a tough one

was a open club comp fri 8pm - sun 5pm
best 2 specimins ( no lsd's allowed)

so fri night we tried babbacombe for na few hours = diddly
then brixham breakwater= 1 undersized pollock

really not the start we wanted

saturday eve a few hours at docks gave me a 50% makkie to me baggie was still struggling, so it was up the north coast armed with that fresh bait and loads of squid

and at last mission accomplished an 8lb 4 thornie, probably giveing me best fight ever of a sea fish


didnt really care on comp now i was buzzing

then even better news with baggie getting his first ever thornie at 8lb13

a great fish( sorry rich can you ad pic as cant link for some reason on daughters laptop)

sun morning had a hour or two on river for a mullet and failed
i know rich managed a 70% makkie so did way better tyan me

comp was won by darren with 2 giltheads for 250% brilliant



and now the reason i'm giving up fishing for 6 weeks

broken my ankle on dartrmoor

although i did get a ride in new air ambulance helecopter


thanks to all the abulance crews you were fantastic really could not have been easy lifting me out , real stars I owe them all

So, the comp, from what I've heard, it sounds like the it was a good one with three club records going??? Well done to Darren. Hell of a result in the end

After a hard weekend with many hours and miles (and a few takeaways!) put in when we finaly got the rays Saturday night, it was just reward. I reckon I fished for over ten hours this weekend and caught just two fish. The first was my first ever Thornie at 8lb 13oz and the second a 1lb 2oz mackerel last cast on Sunday afternoon giving a total of 150 something percent. Not exactly loads of fish, but the two that I got made me more than a bit pleased!



Oh and Dave, I couldn't borrow the Century's for a while could I mate? Won't scratch 'em, promise!
