I'm running out of freshwater species - only char and grass carp left, and one or two introductions like sunbleak that may or may not have survived and bred, plus three or four fish like burbot, Atlantic sturgeon and houting that may or may not be extirpated from the UK.

There are still a lot of seafish to go at though - my list is very weak on rays (have only caught thornbacks and three-figure skate - so next summer could see me trying a few South Coast marks for small-eye, undulate, blonde etc)

You need to come down to Weymouth for the rays. I was out last week with Colin Penny on Flamer 3. One of the guys onboard landed a fantastic Undulate of 19lb. I am sure it will be reported in BFM and Angling Times in the next few weeks. We get loads of Blondes down here as well.

Have you managed to catch a Pumpkinseed fish yet? They are alleged to be common in some southern English waters, but as of yet I have not been able to identify any waters that have them.

Have you got a list of the fish you have caught in the UK. I think you need your own website.

Yep, entered Pumpkinseed into both the 2006 and 2007species hunts.

They are common at Tanyard fishery, East Sussex, have escaped into the Sussex Ouse system and have even worked their way upstream into our club waters at Maresfield.

They make good baits for big perch.......
