 sidmouth comp last night fished sidmouth last night in monthly comp this year attendance has been low, so the 8 of us headed down sea was calm as and weather ok, although tried to rain later but failed we decided to satrt on main beach as less tourists there  the highlight here was watching the lifeboat and tractor meeting to return after a dingy event   during which time i missed a good makkie type bite  so at 9 we moved to the platform fishin g was just as slow , but we hoped to pull something out of the mixed ground the only weigh inable fish from either of us was a just in size 25cm 5 oz scad   we both had schoolies and i also had a tiny pout last cast i snagged and pulled for release and broke the top 18inch off of my bass rod , thats the 2nd odessa rod that i have broken this way now, not happycome the weigh in the only other fish caught were an undersized gurnard and 2 small doggies, it was a dire night really need to find a good fish soon( and a new bass rod , but it wont be a odessa this time thats for sure  ) dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
