a pleasent evening in brighton

last night i went out with twin brother and his new lady( who used to fish) , down to brighton

welll

it was rude not to bring a rod as well

so just after 8 we were settled on bay 18 on the eastern arm

it was a glorious eve, hardly a breath of wind and wow what a moonrise

I was hopefull to scratch out points with either a gar/scad or bream and see what else played so it was 2 x 2 hook flappers size 4
i was armed with some very dead lug and rag that hadnt travelled well from monday, also a suposedly fresh makkie from sainburys

its a superbly easy place to fish

first cast i was into a bream, game on points for the hunt

then a succesion of bream, but i never got one in size

so all went back

as it got dark i managed a double shot with best bream ( didnt think fed in dark) and a scad( more points

)

all fish fell to the manky worm
the makkie never had a touch

headed off to the local for a sociable pint by the marina before heading back
a very pleasent eve and points as well

Ps for anyone heading that way , the guy who sells tickets ( £4 eve for 2 rods) told me they have also been catching small smoothound and sole from the arm as well, makkie are scarse along with the gars
