well it started with a 4.30am start and so me , john marshall(some of you might know him) and a few lads from work were off
so after a 2 hour steam we hit the grounds and it was alive, 1st drift resulted in 20 cod, and we knew we were in for a treat.
soon the tide started to ease and silly me was on the case with the spinning rod. but this time i got bit more than i bargained for, and after a 20 minute battle in came this fine beast

weighting in at less than we expected but a fair fish of 16lb.
after that i was f***ed and thay say cod dont fight...........use a spinning rod and find out.....lol
as the tide turned and i had recovered i dropped the spinning rod set up down again and f**k my luck i was again in to a another big fish on te first lift of the rod. after a 20 minute scrap and every one on our boat and a close by boat treo 3 laughing at me changing colour in came a fine cod bigger than the last 1 at 18lb, hears the pair of them.

on the next drop i had a 5 lber and then another good one of about 14 lb. then the tide got away and i went back to my normal set up.
i saw sharky(steve) blizing around and always in to a fish as we passed, god that boat goes quick and saw all the lads off the forum havig a scream.
we had well over a 100 cod and i had 16 to my self and i was messing around most of the day....lol.
but mr marshall must have a happy wife as he had the biggest golden bollox , he could do no wrong .
the only downer was the amount of shit floating around in the tide out there. and yep that was me in the water cutting off some rope and netting from the prop.so after eric had put a call out on the radio to try and stop some of the boats kicking up loads of wash(shame the had to be 2-3 wankers that still went past causing max wash). it took me about 3/4 of a hour to get it off(lucky the were no whaling ships near by....lol). still at least it saved the cutless bearing which i only change 2 weeks b4 and i was not up for going though that again...lol

A big thankyou to John for for the invite it was a day to remember,
seeing John struggle with a sixteen pounder on spinning rod was good but then
an eighteen he did go red thou, then just to cap it all he spent threequaters of an hour in the water cutting rope off the prop

Hell, I'd travel from Devon for some fishing like that! Only 2 hours out of Southampton, eh? And that sea looks like a millpond - love a good flat calm sea when wrecking.
