Last night , i took a planned trip accross to dawlish with 4 friends called Stella to meet a good mate and forumite who was holidaying there

yes I met Fishypaul

the tide was not good for fishing this area but i had loaded the rods to have a dabble, so we headed to langstone rock beach, and paul and stella were soon reunited and settled

it never did look very promising with others trying for and blanking on the makkie

but what a result as i pulled in this leviathon of a sandeel

( which i imediately renamed bait on a pop up

) caught on a 4/0 bigmouth baited with a launce for ray

also points

as it got dark it actually started getting a bit chilly in the south easterly that had sprung up, then the baggie one arrived with more beer

so it was rude not to join in

fishing by now was a long given up affair, and the weed was a pain in the butt,
but that was not the point of tonight,It was great to meet up with paul again

decided at 10'30ish that party was over so we headed off in true devon tradition to a house of indescriminate meat on a stick( kebab shop) , and we were glad we did as its a cracker just in dawlish town

A great night, the fishing was definately secondry, but despite that its also the first time i've ever out fished paul

hope its not too long before we meet again mate

An absolute pleasure to met you at last Paul. A cracking night. Shame I couldn't fish, but I had a great time anyway. Will definately come see you when the Cod start running in Kent.

we had a great evening,as dave said,the tide wasn't really a good one and the weed was a pain but fishing really took a backseat,it was a great social , enjoyed finally meeting you baggie,
if i manage to get down to your beautiful part of the world later on this summer the car will be filled with gear and we can have a proper sesh !!!!

i don't mind being outfished by dave on this occasion,it was a leviathon after all !

thanks guys , we all need a social evening once in a while , that was special
