Week Off

I have been lucky enough to have this week of as holiday. Whats been even more impresive is the misus has let me go out almost every day for a bit of a fish

I gave Greenheart a call on Saturday as I knew he was headed down my way to Chesil. However due to the conditions of my bail (furniture shopping) I was unable to meet up with him, so I opted for my end of the beach, Chesil Cove. I had hoped to catch some Mackerel for the BBQ but that eventualy took 3 days and a trip to West Bexington to acheive But when I eventually found them there was plenty to be had. I don't think anyone landed any Mackerel down the Portland end of the beach all weekend.

Whilst I was drowning a few feathers I put out a rod with a live Hermit on. After 15 mins or so the rod slammed round. I excitedly ran and grabbed the rod. struck into a nice solid fish and thought I might have picked up a Smoothy or maybe even a Bass. No such luck it turned out to be a Ballan Wrasse of around 2 1/2lb.

Nothing to write home about, but another one of our bread and butter species for the hunt.

I have a plan to get a Bass and some Mullet over the next few days, so watch this space as they say!!
