hill head 23/05 /09 & 24/05/09

with a freezer full of fine cod fillets and fish cakes. i decided to have some sport with the smoothhounds.
so with crabs sorted and my missus giving me a load of bull that she was goning to kick my arse, i choose not to tell her what we were fishing for ;) ;)......she hates sharks....lol
anyway we arived at hill head for a about 7pm and with in 10 minites i had first blood ,a fit hound of 8lb. which soon put the missus in the cabin hiding ;D ;D



next was a run of doggies which soon pasted as darkness fell and what a cracking sunset it was to



then the tide turned and the boat swung round and hell let loose, i was in to a very good fish and my missue was also in to a good one.
now i was fishing with a spinning rod so i knew i was in big trouble and eventualy my missus had her one up along side and we swapped rod for a minute while i relesed a nice fat 12lb smut . then i grabbed my rod again. after a good 30 minute scrap it final cam to the net

the nite carried on like this



till high water and the weed became unfishable.
so we upped achore and head home,but my gear box started to fail and we slowly limped home, but iv done well on this engine as its 42 years old but i think this will be the end for it as parts are near impossable to find.
so with a poorly engine i pinched the launch from work and head out agian the next nite,it was another cracking sunset too.



but this time the was loads of weed and i manged 2 small hounds of 3lb and 6lb. bit of a come down from nite b4, but you got have bads one to enjoy the good ones

so if anyone knows of a good engine in the 50-90 hp bracket im in the market

no one knows about the fishing off hill head....lol


about half a mile, il send you the numbers if you want them.iv not seen it on any charts,but its a shallow gully .
but to be honist if the is not any weed you will have a good nites fishing all over the area with a slight feature.
