| Banna Steve JP and Greenheart at Abbotsbury 23-5-09 Well I don’t know how Ian convinced me but he did, we went sea fishing at Abbotsbury, not much to report apart from the near heart attack getting to the beach and returning to the car, who invented shingle, it’s a nightmare walking on. Three of us went, Ian, JP, and me. 1lb of rag worm and not a single bite. However, went out on the feathers and caught my first ever Mackerel. Yeah go for me a new Sea fish, that’s 8 fish in sea I know off, hang make that 7 again this one I kept. Ian will do most of the report but here are some photos of the day. Ohh and Ian caught an Alien, he did have a name for it but being a freshwater angler these strange things are a mystery to me. | Re: Banna Steve JP and Greenheart at Abbotsbury 23-5-09 Not much to add to what Steve has already said really. It was very hot & very crowded. But the fishing was very slow. Lots of hook robbing spider crabs too. Could'nt get a bite on baits including ragworm, sandeel & peeler & could only catch a few mackerel on the feathers. Did speak to a few people who have been fishing there at night though & they all said there's plenty of Smoothound being caught. A full house of mackies... I'm not sure I'd have made it down the shingle having struggled up it and been greeted with that!!! Still, fair play to you boys, another species for the hunt... That's the name of the game...
