| seatown 15/5/9 last night was a new format comp for the club , being drawn pairs, luckily for gary who organises it was an even number of anglers turned up on the night  so there were 16 people and 8 teams who braved the beach, I had got a lift from others to avoid the parking problems there so was there just on start and as we got out the car we were nearly blown off our feet by the wind  , and lokked down the beach to see a massive, messy surf ( some waves dureing eve 6/8ft plus) other than that it was a pleasent eve set up soon between the first 2 buddies, and cast out, almost immediately the line was way way left with weed and tide , so 5oz leads soon were upped to 6!! these held just slightly longer  the weed added nice flags to tops of rods( saved useing tip lights  ) anyway i fished hard from 7.20-11 when the event was called to an end slightly early as was just getting worse and worse( i didnt waste any crab on smoothies as just seemed pointless  )come the weigh in my partner and myself both blanked and poor andy and fiona who we thought had got the winning bag of a dog and 2 pout was pipped into being the bridesmaid yet again by adrian and andy a tough night( if had been a plasure session i def wouldnt have fished there long) other fish caught were a tiny silver eel and undersized huss pity as i love this venue next time  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |

| Re: seatown 15/5/9 Never mind Dave. When the weather improves I'm sure you will be bagging up  .I'm staying in this w/e  , will wait for better conditions. Blooming boring, can't even tie bad rigs as have run out of crimps. | Re: seatown 15/5/9 I've been in tonight as well, but fortunately I had a delivery from Veals mail order this week and had plenty of crimps! I tied up a dozen up and overs and unless the wind disapears in morning there will be a dozen new pulley pennels tied by lunch time. Rather be out fishing though. |
