| calshot 14th may. starry,starry night paint your pallette blue and grey, look out on a summers day, with eyes that know the darkness in my soul.  , sorry getting carried away with don mclean for a while there.well it was blue/grey & starry anyway  but the sky wasn't, it was over cast and misty. i quit work at 8pm and made the rag beds for last light dug for a bit and got a few rag to add to my squid/bluey and sandeel by which time it was too dark to search for a crab or 2.  lepe looked plastered in weed so i thought about mag lane but opted for calshot. high tide was due for about 3am i think. rigs were up n over/ three hooks flapping & a flowing trace. it was only about a couple of hours into the flood when i started & there was no sign of any fish till midnight when small pouting started to show at short range, i was getting bored by the early hours &kept falling asleep wakeing at one point just b4 dawn to find i'd caught a small smoothy. i fished on till 5am but nothing doing. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |
