the hounds 10/5/09

i arrived at fountian lake and met up with mick and jeff and we were on our way to the hounds , thinking we might get half a day b4 it gets bit to lumpy. but thay got that weather wrong and as the day went on it got better and better. what a bonus
the fishing was slow to start with just a few pout but after a drop with the ground bait it kicked off. first up for me was a nice 2lb pollock,

then then the bream started i had 2 little ones then jeff got a nice one. then i got a good one.

and mick had a good one. the day carried on like that , not manic but steady.
in the end i had 6 but only 2 keepers, jeff had and it was a keeper and mick had 4 and all were keepers but we let 2 go back at the mooring as thay were fit as a fiddle in the live tank.
i managed to scrap the money by 1 oz with my biggest of 1lb 10oz. almost felt bad about winning....lol
another cracking day out ,esp on a easterly wind and the weather played fair

cheers john

we used whole party squid or strips for most of them but peelers will pick out the bigger ones (thats what iv had my biggest ones on in the past, up to 4lb 13oz) . other baits which clean up are fresh mackerel and very thin cuttle strips. rag worm is ok if you have nothink else but wrasse, pout, school bass will pester you like mad and drive you insane if you want a black bream.
go get em m8
good luck
