nationl dogfish fest at branscombe last night

well baggie and myself tried branscombe last night
paid the fiver for 8 hours parking ( not bad i shared) and headed left
hopes were high for our first hound of the year

got there and set up by 7.30 and i put out a crab 3/0 straight away and other rod with size 1 2hook flapper and makkie strips for anything

rich did a quick job with the feathers and had a full string 3rd cast, so we were well sorted for bait
just as dusk fell i swapped the flapper for big lomp of makkie hopeing for a huss
and so with the big makkie baits it was that the dogs decended, for a while it was a fish a cast, baggie even managed to get on crab as well

we both lost count but we were determined to battle through them to get a huss or hound , but it wasnt to be

a good night and didnt need thermal trousers or jacket for the first time this year was still 15.5* when we left just before 12

on another plus it was good to see the beach looking back to its former glory and no works on the napoli( must find out if finished now or just waiting till later??)

the hounds will come west soon i hope

Welldone for getting out and having some sport mate!!!! I too hope the hounds arrive soon as i have an appointment with the branscombe hounds at the end of the month

weve had loads of hounds over here ive had 1 to half a pound and a 4 pounder and saw some biguns caught off the pier
