with moderate westerlies for the last few days i thought that would def churn up a bit of weed through the solent venues+ tides *rse bout t*t for chesil i didnt fancy fishing over low water esp with the wind where it was.

and so i plumped for southbourne. where it might be a bit lumpy but less weedy.

the wind was still howling in from the west when i parked at the grange.
the sea had quite a chop to it & i thought there aught to be a bass about somewhere at least

baits were, - sandeel/squid & bluey.
no worm, another factor which left me disenclined to venture eastwards into the solent.

rigs were- 3 ook flapper & up n over.

first catch was an out of season kite fish, unusual at this time of year but more common later in the summer , especially after windy conditions.

shortly afterward the drizzle started

no sign of a fish or even a bite, baits were returning untouched or masked by a little weed esp' if cast short.

later , the drizzle stopped

but the catch rate was unimproved.

by midnight the moon had broken through the clouds and i'd had enough,

5 hours wasted.
