Town quay 1/05/09 Afternoon anglers , fished town quay again last night with eddie and aaron , arriving at 6pm to a bit of a easterly blow , armed with an arsenal of baits rag, squid, blueys, mackeral , sandeels, and crab baits we went about doing the biz , assaulted by an army of pout from the off on all baits , which meant plenty of live bait on offer , still managed to bag 4 species betwen us , pout and dogs were readily available , then a classic hound pull on whole crab and up came my biggest shore caught fish of the year so far smoothound (common) weighing inat 4 1/2 lb , no monster but it was nice to see a bend in the rod and have a spirited fight with something other than pout , .....................![]() ![]() getting bigger all the time as things slowly start to pick up on the south coast at last , one more speces for 2009s hunt ended up with a rig wrecking snotty ..............![]() well we called it a night at 5.30 am this morning with another 3 points for solentavon , 1/2 hour short of another 12 hour bash , thats it now untill next friday when we are out hunting some real sport , double figure hounds and black bream ,lee. __________________ If Everyday things are getting you down & stressing you out, Think like a Dog, If it cant be Eaten or Humped, Piss on it and walk away..

Re: Town quay 1/05/09 As I'm going fishing this week for the first time this season I am also pleased to see summer fish are in. Brighton is showing well on their Trial Fish site. I am partial to the odd eel and contacted the new Angling Trust following the TV statements that eels can only be caught and kept with a rod licence. The NFSA had removed silver eels some time ago from their specimen list. Well I got the reply that we have to 'instantly return eels to the sea if caught by accident'. Of course they are refering to silver eels and not conger. End result - I bought a rod licence £17-25. I mentioned to the Angling Trust that inspectors would need to use their discretion in cases where sea anglers are no where near a river if there was not to be unecessary bother. Maybe I was just out of date with my fishing but you never know.

Nice one Lee. Good looking Smutt mate. Think I may have to give Town Quay a go. It's somewhere that i've never fished. Interesting what Tonyt was saying about Eels. It's a new law that I was'nt aware of. Not that it really matters to me, as I have a rod licence & only ever catch bootlaces anyway LOL __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...
