| Ladies and Gents..... Due to one of our number sadly being unable to go, I have ONE SPACE available on our Channel Island trip next month, on the above dates. The trip is with Rob Thompson aboard his awesome cat, 'SHOGUN' and departs from Lymington (New Forest, Hampshire). Itinery is as follows. Day 1. Steam straight to Islands and have the 1st afternoon there. (Nobody really wants to go wrecking on the way over and take 6 day old pollack/cod home?!). Day 2. Target the flatties. Day 3. Target the flatties. Day 4. Target the flatties Day 5. Hopefully the cod will have arrived on the brittle star beds in numbers; so 'cod hopping' on the way home.....to add some quality fillets to our already healthy icebox full of turbot! At least once on days 2,3 or 4, we will have a fun few hours fishing for the plentiful tope and bull huss......there should also be some bream and bass about, if the flattie fishing is slow. The price for the boat for the 5 days (based on 8) is £375.00 per head, pretty damn good, given the current financial climate, the extra day and Rob's expertise......if you ask me. Accomodation is booked and is on a bed and breakfast basis with Mark Harding (of Alderney Angling), cost for this is £37.00 per night, which is a couple of quid more than some B & B's........but there are a few extra benefits in staying with the tackle shop owner, obviously. The cold winter has seen a vast improvement in the water clarity around the Islands and the flattie fishing has already got off to a good start. Mark Harding went out on Smuggler, out of Braye, on Friday and they managed 25 turbot, 1 brill......and also dropped a fair few fish. For up to date reports see http://alderneyangling.com/latestreports.htm By all accounts, it should be a fantastic trip. Contact me ASAP, via PM if you want that last place!! Best Regards. A.C. |
