Hillhead wall 11/4/09

Met up with eddiec for a bash at hillhead wall again , arrived at 6pm to get a spot , but already it was busy , with anglers fishing the spit and people waiting on the wall for the tide , as the tide came up , met up with daveboy and mate , mark , aaron and mate , pete and ivor , great night with very little wind and just a few light showers , fishing was very slow with a few dogs pout ,poor cod and a solitary ray .

started off with a late supper with me mate , wish he would bring his own food ...........



then hit into a poor cod for the species hunt



then hit into my first ray of the year ................







only a butterfly but they all count , as high approached it was an absolute nightmare with the weed and tidal run , with knitting going on everywhere , mark had the worst of it with the angler to the left of him , i myself lost 4 lots of gear and shockleader , only for eddie to retrieve one set for me , mark pulled in one of his lost sets to find he had a dog on the end , then it calmed down for an hour ,with little else to show tide ripped up again so me and ed called it a night at 4.30am , great night in great company and a few tiddlers , god i need a fish over a pound

Good effort. This is the time of year for the big ones at Hillhead and they always say where there are small ones the big ones follow. If you get the time it would be worth trying again over the next couple of weeks, because they thornies dont hang around Hillhead for too long.
