| Just returned from New Zealand and had quite a few fishing sessions whilst away and what a difference the fishing is compared to our coasts. Fished a few locations but mainly Gulf Harbour, North of Auckland (about 40km) you could cast out and generally get bites & big ones at that after a few seconds and occasionally your rod would be snatched out of the rest and you would chase it down the beach/rocks. Used Pilchards, Bonito & Squid as bait and caught dozens of snapper, Kawhai, Spotties & Trevally, we even had a Hammerhead shark. loads of the fish were of a decent size. This weekend going to try the Isle of Sheppey (by my Holiday Home) but don't think it will quite have the same thrill - never mind still got to give it a try. |
