| 2nd april. i went to stokes bay & wish i didn't, but it was as good as anywhere i s'pose. wind- none sea state- flat as a turd, one thats been run down by a steam roller and altered into a somewhat serious state of flatness. tides- yep, but not much of one , a neap with high water for somewhen after 4am. not that it was very high, or low for that matter, at 9.30 pm when it was low water. bait,- mackerel, squid, ermit crab, rag. rigs - all pulleys, some with small hooks and some with bigger hooks i parked in the carpark by the life boat station/yacht club & wandered off left untill i felt to knackered to continue, quitting smoking must of helped coz i nearly got to the corner by the coast guards building. (if thats what it is). i caught a small pout with my 1st cast and was getting constant knocks to all baits throught the last of the ebb ,slack water & the early flood. bites dwindled towards 1/2 tide by which time boredom had already set in. gave up at 3am. final tally- 1/2 doz pout & 3-4 doggies. you didn't miss much lee. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |
