| march 16th, left the wife n kids home and went on a wee jaunt with dad down to hayling to hunt a plaice, arrived at 10am to find tackle shop shut on mondays - so no fresh wriggly rag , just had to make do with not so fresh or wriggly rag dug on thurs,a bit of sticky black, razors & clams. the weather was fine & sunny with a s/e ? wind and calm conditions. the tide was just starting to flood as we got there. ![]() things looked quite good , but prospects slim i'd seen reports from both eastney & eaststoke corner this weekend that were not to inspireing. i fished wishbones, ![]() one long & clipped, the other shorter & d-viced. the tide rolled in, time dragged by. without a bite. ![]() the casting was going well for both me and dad, luv my new ultima f1 main line loaded on my freshly serviced reels, it flys well. not much else to post really, rag ran out and we quit at 3pm, i got some more bait with a view to thornie hunting after dropping dad home but didn't go in the end. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |

| Re: march 16th, We get the plaice at Hayling a week or two after (and if?) they arrive at Eastney. I fished today (at Eastney) with a couple of decent anglers and we had one teenee plaice between us. I reckon the fish are two or three weeks behind the usual trend this year. Water temp is gradually creeping up but has been two Deg C lower than normal! There an article I wrote about Hayling here - http://www.total-fishing.co.uk/Fishe...hayling_island Rather old now, but much of it applies. |
