| well really wasnt too sure about last night although the monthly wed comp the weather really wasnt too pleasent as we left exmouth with sleet and rain falling and a temp gauge arround the 3* mark but amazingly by the time we got to the beach at branscombe along with the few other nutters who braved it last night ( 8 of us in total better than i thought with the forcast ) we saw clear skies and no wind so both of us resplendant in the new £6 and £7 ( mine cost more as needed more material i guessbaits were sandeel/squid/mackeral and razor to try and tempt a huss and worm for anything else well it was slow almost to the point of static ( well my rod tips were silver eel( too small for comp but 1.5 points well done mate )![]() the snow then fell and then turned to some really cold rain which was unpleasent but come packing down time 11.30 i had still hadnt even had a bite but rich at the death snaffled in a fine doggie of 1lb 13oz ![]() ![]() which gave him 2nd place, the winner ken had managed a v small dog and a v small huss for 3% more in total , only 1 other person caught and that was a pout , so didnt feel bad about blanking myself next month will be at rockling cental ( ladram bay) drove home through a blizzard , and woke today to reports of east devon being snowbound in places ![]() a tough night roll on saturday and some big fish fishing ![]() ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 03-05-2009 at 11:36 AM. |

| Re: branscombe in the snow 4/3/5 If it hadn't of been a comp, we'd have been in the pub long before closing I reckon. A silver eel which didn't register a bite was celebrated like a 5lb Bass! and getting second for the doggie as I pulled the rods in to tackle down sums up the whole evening really.Still, points I guess. ![]() __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods.
