needles 1/3/09 one of them days

head out yesterday on wight reble with me,eric, roy(wrecker) and 2 otheres, i hoped we might scrap a couple of hour on the banks for a ray or 2, but the tide said NO.
soon the banter was on full throttle and a 5er each on for biggest fish and conger dont count as the only rule....lol
we fished the ridges and watched motionless rods, after 2 hours the anchor kindly slipped and we drifted back 100yrd and then bit, so we tryed again but just 1 single conger fell to bob of about 15lb.
after another hour we said bollox, and upped anchor and moved to a wreck just ouside of us and anchor the slack for some garanteed snottys ...............hhhhhmmmmm
well i thought conger were a easy fish to get anyday, but just to remind me you can have realy bad days i watched every one around me pull up conger after conger apart from me , who could not even get a bite(not even a touch) and no one took the micky much...lol
eric who did his bit for catch and release and dropped about 6-7 conger in a row half way up. honist as the day is long we never took the piss much.......ok we both got ripped. its never good when roy(wrecker) is catchin more than you...lol
with eric not happy with his rod i was then left in charge of it as my rod was jinxed with some IOW voodoo curse...lol, then lucky for me then manged to hook a conger and keep it on.......wow miracals do happen.
soon eric had one and all of us were saved from a blank with tide picking up very fast.
just before we pulled the anchor roy was in again and blah blah blah yep some little conger thing of about 50lb(jammie git) im sure he will get the piccy up soon or il get him to send it to me and il post it
soon it was unfishable and we moved back in to the ridges again to watch motionless rod, but just b4 the end , as a true expert i manged a true fish...........yep a pout...... hand over ya money.....lol
out of pure embarassment i did not take the kitty and we head home for a couple of pints and to rest my very sore sides from laughing.
we must of had 20+ conger
oh and 1 fine pout. and i did not take a piccy, i was getting the p*** ripped out me enough without taking a piccy of a 1lb pout...lol
i recon il get another 1 some day....lol
good day out with good bunch. need more days like it just without my rod been jinxed
