Blue Anchor Fished Blue Anchor last night and it was good to be out. It was mild with little wind and just a couple of minutes worth of light rain. The fishing was typically slow and although I managed lots of rattles I found it hard to convert these to fish on the bank and finished up with 2 pout and a whiting. I put a live pout out over high in a vain attempt for something preditory, alas nothing. 3 guys fishing up the beach from me faired little better between them. Oh well, good practice for when the rays and conger do start to show! ![]()

Re: Blue Anchor Hi Baggie, is it just as bad down your neck of the woods then? I was thinking about popping down to Budleigh Salterton or Branscombe soon or would it be a waste of diesel?

Re: Blue Anchor Even when the fishings crap it still pays to get out and learn about new marks. I fished at Minehead earlier in the week and sussed out a mark that can only be fished for 3 hours on the "up" during springs. I managed to get a good look at the terrain at low water and came to the conclusion that it may have limited fishing time during big springs but would probably give many hours fishing on the neap tides. It'll be a mark that I will return to in a few weeks time when I think that the rays will be in. Watch this space!!

Re: Blue Anchor Well done on catching anything Nick. I'm giving Feb a miss .I have found that you can fish Porlock Wier for a few hours either side of low, then pop up to Blue Anchor for a couple of hours over high. Good luck with the rays in a few weeks. ![]() __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>
