feb doldrums deepen

well tonight was the feb leg of the wed night league

I originally had no chance of fishing this wed match( which i was helping run league but def on sidelines now ) as the lovely mrs p was away, but the snow somewhere in S/E put paid to that so I was now free to fish

BUt the weather was horrid at home a strong easterly and heavy rain/sleet predicted, phoned adrian to find out if still a goer??( hopeing not!!!) and the answer was yes , unfortunately (or fortunately???) baggie was clearing house for a rare viewing

so i went over on own and got my ass over to seaton where there were 3 of us us stood in the lightish drizle but still full easterly with seconds of check in time left( mmmm do we call it a comp or not???) then rich and andy turn up so thers 5 so sod it lets go

so down on beach and set up,
I throw out first rod with rag and squid on 2/0 pennel and 5oz grip to start setting up other rod and first is away nearly pulling over tripod with weed/current,so i retrieve it and whack on a 6oz weight and send out again, this time again still havent sorted second rod( now in horrid freezing cold rain) and the tripod is on deck, retrieve rig and weed and SOD IT !!!!!! i'm off home
this was not my idea of fun ( wed league is meant to be more of a social than toughing it out!!!! ) so back home and off to pub, unfortunately on my own again as baggie was still cleaning kitchen /loo/main room whatever in time for tommorrow( good luck mate)

where i endure watching 2 northern football teams kick some old pigs bladder arround half heartedlyon multiple big screens ( dont really care who they were as miles away ) , but glad the blue team won as they seemed more " up for it??" on night

bring on march/april as feb is really peeing me off now

Anyway, can't say I'm over upset to be honest. If Ade and co went out and score major points in that lot then fair play to them, they deserve the lead.....
