Flounder???

Anyone know if there's any flounder being caught around Southampton or Poole?

though i've seen lots to the contarary on various forums, wot i was told as a kid seems to fit the pattern-

flounder feed up over winter in the estuarys, and are full with roe ready for spawning, at about the end of jan for south coast rivers the majority leave the estuary to spawn at depths around 5 fathoms ,
returning about april as skinny spent fish.

Half dozen blokes from work fished the first of our team mini league at the reclaimed land (Hythe) on Friday. Had 4 flounders between them for 6 hrs of fishing ..... interestingly - one of them had a Sea trout on rag !!!

nice to hear the trout turning up already.
i know the are the odd flounders are around but you are more likly to blank than get one. id stick with the puddle dunking for a while ian, and wait till the plaice and rays start to show.

Evening Hill along Sandbanks Road is still getting Flounders up to 2lb+

Surprisingly, there seems to be glut of flounders from Brighton to Pevensey!
