 chesils january doldrums continue well we couldnt make our minds up last night as the fishing has seriously gone into the jan/feb doldrums we knew others were fishing local but undeterred we headed to west bex in a last chance saloon for a cod/anything better got there bang on high tide to an empty carpark , and even emptier chesil set up quick and sent out 1 rod whole razor and lug on 3/0 pennel, then whilst waiting for rest of bait to defrost sent out a 2 hook 2/0 flapper with some iffey ragworm after 20min/ 1/2 hour I had a double shot of dog and tiny rockling on the flapper rig and then a dog on the razor,  so at least points for a dog at least, so then it was all out big baits for a cod, bigger whiteing but nothing , diidly .zipp for the next 3 hours as we sheltered against the east wind that was driveing the pea soup fog into our faces, it was pretty misserable last cast and i had a tiny whiteing on the flapper rig as switched to worm again Baggie unfortunately blanked totally and is almost at the point of throwing rods in sea,   unfortunately I think feb is not going to be much better so may have to be more selective on venues, although luckily family stuff means less chance fishing the barren seas anyway, roll on the summer this is getting tough  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |

| Re: chesils january doldrums continue i think gremlins got the right idea there, i bottled out of chesil tonight , south east wind & just a little too rough by the look of the forcast. may do a flattie hunt tomorow but not too hopeful. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |
