| Flat calm off the needles ! Evening anglers , not long got back from a trip out to the needles with friends  ,arrived at lymington with gary at 8am and met up with mark and chris , damn cold  , walked up the jetty to await becky m our charter for the day , even the sea had sheets of ice between the dinghys moored up there  .... the view up the pontoons , dont slip  .................. 8.30 am and becky m arrives , complete with paul , mick and nick from the island  ................ we board and set off to our mark ,the sea was as flat as a pancake and no wind at all , fishing was very slow so the skipper had a chat to his mates , who said it fished badly where we were yesterday , so skip promptly up anchored and we moved out a bit further  , anchored in again and settled down to some serious fishing , few dogs and pout were caught , then chris (now known as hartleys ) pulled in this beauty ..................  7 lb 8ozs blinder , then bugger me 15minutes later he hit into another of 5 lb 7 ozs ................  we all had a butchers as what he was doing and noticed he had a red muppet above his big squid baits , that was it lol we all raided garys tackle bag and whipped up his different coloured muppets much to his discust lol  , it worked , me and nick were in next with a spotty each ,   unfortunately of the lesser kind , nick hit into a nice conger on mackeral flapper , but unfortunately dropped it , also chris had one more big hit and was into a monster, unfortunately snapped him off , as we were due to up anchor and head home , the whiting came on the feed , ....... mark with his biggest ......  mick with his ..................  time flies when you are out there , and in no time we were off home , the master preparing his supper ,    Absolutely stunning day out there amongst friends , great banter and some good fish , well done chris on the cod , this will now be a once a month jaunt for us all , look forward to the next one cheers lads , lee. __________________ If Everyday things are getting you down & stressing you out, Think like a Dog, If it cant be Eaten or Humped, Piss on it and walk away..     |
