Cod sess an half (Dungie lastnight)

Mentioned to the FPO yesterday morning about going fishing for the day and into the night and to my amazement she said "yea go if you like"
So i emptied my bait fridge of lug ,threw the gear in the car and before she could change her mind i was gone!
Now then do i go chesil or Dungeness , no competition at the moment , Dungie here i come.
I arrived at about 1300 and bloody hell it was packed
Word was out on how well its been fishing.
I sqeezed in and sat for an hour just chatting and drinking coffee.
The fishing was slow for the remainder of of the flood just a few whiting some of which were pretty big.
Speaking to a chap next to me he reckoned blasting your bait out at dungie was the way to fish it .So the next bait got belted out and resulted 5 mins later in a 2lb cod.
As the ebb picked up i had a few more coddling , not loads but maybe one every half hour ,then about 3 hrs down it went mad.
I pulled another 2lber in cast straight back out and the other rod was slack by the time i pulled that cod in the one i had just cast out was slack.
I thought this was a decent fish put it turned out to be a 2lber on the top pennel and a 3lber on the bottom.
Ive never had two cod on the same pennel
As quickly as they had come the cod then vanished as they do.
Another hour passed and then they came again,as quick as i could get my baits out i caught cod but they were gone 15 mins later
As the tide tide reached bottom the fishing slowed and it was time for the long drive home.
I ended with 2 very large dabs , 1 doggie , 20+ whiting (some monsters) a few pout and 14 cod between 2-3,5lb
One of the best cod sessions ive had in ages , reminded me of codding up t north
All cod caught on blows and blacks as far as i could chuck it.
