| well as said I went off for the last 'official' Club meet ( sure there will be some unoficiall fish ins over christmas) of the year last night, venue was slapton ( memorial carpark)fishing 7-midnight with the high arround 10pm, this was both a league and a stand alone cup comp( away cup) so there was something to fish for weather was first clear skies with fantastic stars( no light pollution here) then overcast andquite mild was unfortunately too early a start for rich so after looking at a car share was chuffed when i jumped in the car with andy and si and trundled through the 50mph average speed lanes on a30 to get there at 7 ![]() amazed at how many rods were there considering that this was a "school night" comp but set up v quickly off to the left( there were 15 fished in end) as predicted we were all into the whiteing very quickly on the size 1/0 2 hook flapper and it wasn't long before I had a sizeable pair to weigh in at 10 and 13 oz ( average size on night there was only 1 over the pound), then bingo cod/dog rod 3/0 pennel with worm and squid at range ( and i was really casting well tonight ) found a doggie and and then a cute little hermit crab which i renamed bait , and dutyifully it produced my best dog at 1lb 15despite all efforts i could not get a pout or a pollock to add to the list( you can only weigh 2 best of each species so more species = more points) a couple of others had caught the odd pollock also a makkie of 1lb 4oz and a solitary poutno dabs or cod despite best efforts of those there come the weigh in it was brian the viking with 2 dogs , 2 whiteing and a pout who won, also getting best specimin with a 2lb4 dog, ![]() think was andy T who got 2nd ( was v late by now taf got third which i am sure gave him the league win ( well done mate )I was not in top 3 but not by much and was well pleased with how I fished ( seem to be on an up at last ) a lovely night, a good end to club year with good mates roll on 2009 as theres some cracking fixtures for me to fish and too waffle on about ![]() ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |
