Branscombe last night

well after the foul foul weather of fri night , when i was very glad was clubs xmas bash,( work was not fun sat despite midday start, but was a cracking do ) as weather was seriously unfishable, hopes were high with the waters being stirred up

but where to go

fisnished work 6.50 and after a swift turn arround had baggie in car and off to branscome by 7.30

arrived 1 hour after high and met some guys who had had whiteing.dogs and huss( the main target) set up just to right

i was fishing 1 rod size 2/0 2 hook flapper with worm for whiteing and other 2 x 3/0 pennel clipped down with squid and sandeel for the huss

well the tide was belting out and the shooting stars kept us entertained but the fishing was poor

had 3 whiteing, a double shot of dogs and a poxy eel, but as a plus no crackoffs or birdies or snags( first in ages) for me unfortunately rich was haveing the mare and was blanking badly

a nice eve though

roll on wed when possible trip to slapton with club( more whiteing i guess but hope for more)

Many more sessions like last night Lee and I think the lure of the sofa might become too much for me as well. Quite bluntly, I was fishing like an ar*e.

Leaving baits out for far too long (And then wondering why I was snagging up), not being bothered to refresh baits, casting badly.... I just couldn't seem to get myself motivated. Towards the end I dropped down to one rod and even spent the last twenty mins of the session exploring a bit of beach I haven't walked before simply 'cause I couldn't be bothered to fish any longer. No surprise then that I had a big fat blank really.

Ah well, at least all the shooting stars were cool anyway...

good effort guys unlucky about the fishless night. I dout you will fair any better on slapton sands tho. i ahd a good night at blackpool sands last month.
