Dungie near the boats report 21/11/08

Jiust got back from a cssc match. 8 people fished from 1400-2000. Me and three friends fished the boats and caught lots of pin whiting and a few channel whites, few dab and pout and three codling to three pounds. Out of eight people we caught 50lbs of fish that were above NSF limits. One rod each with a max of two hooks. Thought conditions would be difficult but we had light snow and a few gusts of wind that did not cause too much of a problem. Water was coloured and wind from north and swung from north east and back to the north again. A few big waves almost caught us out, so we moved well back to be safe. No weed. Baits were lug, squid, cuttle fish and mack. Most fish were caught close in to mainly worm and squid heads. There were reports of a monster cod caught but I did not see it myself. Fish not interested in only squid - had to be lug included on the menu somewhere! The back of the powerstation to the boards were full of people, around 12 rods out at the boats (4 were ours). Left all of the gear in the car, so lots of sorting has to be done. All on my wedding aniversary - that should give the missus something else to moan at!
