| Re: Blackpool sands this sat Haven't fished Blackpool Sands since I spent my very first fishing holiday at the Tower Inn, Slapton in the 1950s. A fabulous week on the local beaches (bass!) and on Slapton Ley (lots of pike doubles and rudd to over 3 lb) was finished in style with my first shore-caught tope (36 lb) from Blackpool Sands. I fished by the rocks on the west side, casting left, onto the sand.
