bonfire night at Beer ( no not on the beer)

fished the Wed night league match at Beer harbour last night

Unfortunately guess due to being bonfire night ( all displays arround here are on the night) and also a bit further away numbers were down so only 7 fished

the sea was calm and apart from a very very light easterly weather was lovely and all eve fireworks were echoeing all arround the small harbour in the stillness

some fished main beach and some way left but rich and myself headed over to the rocks on the right

soon after the start we know that something good had happened on other side of the bay as we could hear Adrian whooping , we found out later what that was

well to say i had a nightmare was an understatement, I was snagging up all over the place,( lost count how many sets was about 5 i think) overrunning the reel ( especially on short casts) and even manageing to loose a couple of fish as reeling in, or not connecting to good bites

where as rich was fishing ok and had a brace of dogs and a good rockling then a pollock as well , eventually i managed to land a dog and at last knockings managed another for a pair

come the weigh in rich was a respectable 4 and amazingly i was 5th dispite my mishaps

but Adrian had well and truely won with a cracking PB Bass of 6lb 5oz



well done mate well deserved
came home via the kebab and a trot to seafront to sea paul( the whiting king) and karen again

ps I have now destroyed /amended all the old rigs i had in wallet and rebuilt or remaid

Still can't quiet get my head round how much gear you lost mate... I lost one set, but that was probably because I got a little too brave and pretty much put one into the rough stuff to my right....
A good night though and flipping close come the weigh in (2nd & 5th place were only 20% apart). Justice prevailed in the end and the night was rightly won by a cracking Bass. Well done Ade.

Like you say, roll on Chesil. Not gonna happen in a million years mind, Chesil is going to be evil on Sunday... Maybe time for a Fluke foray round t'other side?????
