nearly made the competition last night

funny old night last night

club had a comp at west bexington 6pm-midnight

due to work i was def going to miss the start but really fancied a chesil trip

had a call from taff just as leaving to say west bex was rammed so the area was extended to all chesil , anyways I met rich at 6 and after a bit of diy ( i'll let him explain) we set off with our mountain of bait from several shop[s in devon

on the way several txt / calls were made and sounded like chesil although big was packed also we were hitting so much slow traffic we were missing out on too much time , so we abandonned idea on fishing comp but where to go, we started by looking into seatown. and yep not too too busy so off we went, by now it was nearly 7.45

well fishing was not too exciting i did catch a massive pout and 1 dog plus any worm bait caught pout as well, rich was into whiteing and pout all on 3/0 hooks and above

we gave it till midnight then headed home, and amazeingly was only 10mins late for work this morning ( poxy snooze button )

nice eve weather wise, and we still have a stack of bait for wed when hopefully will be back to chesil

Re: nearly made the competition last night

A cracking evening spoilt only by being unable to enter the comp, being unable to fish our choosen venue, being let down by our bait supplier, running around all day looking to source bait, my garage door making a bid for freedom and nearly killing us, setting up too near the sea and having to move the shelter back up the beach, Albion being taught a footballing lesson, pouting, pouting, pouting, whiting, pouting, my new flask being RUBBISH, cracking off and loosing my last tappered leader and several other less than optimum happenings.

Still, a hundred times better than "simply Britians got X factor brother" rubbish. And a Dotty Cluck or two on the beach nevers hurts now does it?

One day......

Sounds like there are plenty of fish about - even if not the sort you want.
Good luck on Wednesday
