South Parade Pier

Fished the ebb tide off Southsea pier this morning. Nothing big to report but 2 new species for me - Black Bream (3) and this Corkwing Wrasse:








All caught just before low tide with a north-east breeze on Rag and Lug. Quite pleased and looking forward to a weekend high tide beach evening fish.

There's codling at Hayling and Pagham after dark.

Can't see why the Pier shouldn't produce them as well?

Codling's definitely the next fish on my "list", and hopefully my plate. We're thinking of trying Pagham this weekend - never been before. Any marks in particular I should favour?

Had a codlet at Pagham (anywhere near the Yacht Club) last night -



and pulled out of a bigger one caught in the kelp halfway back in.

Trying Hayling again tonight as it's just a 100m walk!

These tides are worth a chuck!

I'll be off to dig some lug tomorrow,be fishing Pagham if not to crowded Saturday,otherwise Hayling.

Some of Hayling Sea Front is fenced off for the HW (day and night) visits of the beach replenishment vessel! Avoid Creek Rd to Eastoke Corner for at least a week.

Coastguard to Inn on the Beach will be clear.
