brixham breakwate 20/9/8

fish a club comp last night with 23 other members of club last night
6pm-12midnight ht 10,30

baggie was round as prompt as prompt( for baggie) only 1 min late( he apologises for not being arround but his pc has got a virus and i dont want it )
and in true rally rich style we were at the breakwater for the start 6pm, although we still had to walk the mile along it to find a good spot to fish

we were really hopeing for gar and makkie as had been a fantastic day, but when we got there there was a steady eastely blowing and a good swell comeing against the outer wall

so with 1 rod into this swell we tried floatfishing the inner harbour as well
here we both had several undersised pollock and i also added some undersized wrasse before dark when it was all to the outer wall

baggie was bagging up on pout as were several others arround us plus a couple of rougue makkie after dark, Me well i never got a bite and failed to weigh in

come the end baggie at least had 2 pout though, but every one struggled, there were 2 doggies caught and also a cracking 3 beard rockling at a shade uner 2lb( a new club record we believe) there were many others who blanked as well so i didnt feel so bad

then the best bite of the night as we found the kebab shop , but both struggled with indigestion on way home

unlucky dave sorry i couldnt join you but yes i was called into work again

just curious as to why you chose to fish the seaward side of the wall come darkness?....everything you catch on the breakwater will come from the inside or the outside including the congers
