my weekends efforts

well iv been in 12 hour shifts for a while and missed one of the best weekends weather in ages. but i did still manage to give it my best shot.

saterday dinner time i popped to the boat and tryed for a mullet or two but got plaged by tiny bass so at tea break i tryed agian and managed a small 3 lb mullet but again it was on the fly gear so was good fun.
anyway 7pm came and i clocked out and went to the boat and my 2 mates meet me with the improtant supplies (beers,bacon,bread, oh and bait ) and by nite fall we were anchored up and after the sole.
by 10 pm we had only had bass, eels and 1 smut . but then it happened ..........the radio started to blurt out
"I've got Sole, but I'm not a soldier" which was quite funny when a couple of beers had gone down and i reeled in the first sole of the evening going a whole 1lb . i had another 5 sole but non of any size. nigel and lloyd both had two each but again they were small, that said every sole we had was followed by us singing (if it can be called that ) "I've got Sole, but I'm not a soldier" which did probaly seem liek we were mad to the other boat along side us....lol

we had 11 sole in the end , loads of small bass and one of 2lb plus eels and few more smuts.

on sunday after sleeping on the boat i tryed again for a decent mullet and had 2 small ones again but the was some good fish around and thay are close to been doubles if thay actulay wernt.

monday nite came and i tryed the marina with the last of the rag worm , but is was very quite . i did manage 4 bass and 1 eel but the place is normaly alive at nite so was bit disapointing.

im now off the shifts for another 5 weeks so if the weather plays ball i can get out and have few more shots at the sole and somthink bit bigger
